Jerry L. Zimmerman was born in Chicago, Illinois and admitted to the Oklahoma bar in 1979. His undergraduate degree is from Cornell College (B.A., 1976), law degree from the University of Tulsa (J.D., 1979), and Master of Laws degree from Boston University (LL.M., Taxation, 1980). He has been employed by Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold since 1980 and was made a shareholder and director of the firm in 1985. Jerry has represented hundreds of buyers and sellers in commercial merger and acquisition transactions, with an aggregate monetary amount of those transactions that is well in excess of a billion dollars. He has developed and implemented many business and estate plans for family enterprises, in many cases commencing with the organization of the enterprise and culminating in a sale of the family enterprise. He has structured hundreds of estate plans, ranging from multimillion dollars to more modest estates. Jerry is well versed and experienced in trust and estate litigation, and receives appointments from the Tulsa County Chief Probate Judge to serve as an independent personal representative or trustee in bitterly contested estate and trust litigation. He represents several physician groups, hospitals and healthcare providers. His education in taxation and his experience in transactional law for more than 40 years has, in his opinion, served the firm's clients well.
