Mark S. Rains

Mark S. Rains was born in Des Moines, Iowa and was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1984.  He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Iowa in 1981 with a B.A. Degree in Political Science and Economics. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1984. Upon graduating law school Mr. Rains went to work for Rosenstein, Fist and Ringold from 1984 to 2007, first as an associate and then a partner from 1990 on. Mr. Rains left RFR in 2007 and started his own firm where he concentrated on and continued his litigation practice, primarily defending school district. In 2017 he went to work for Cheek Law Firm in Oklahoma City, again specializing in insurance defense for national carriers such as the Hartford Insurance Company, the Scottsdale Insurance Company, the Markel Insurance Company and others.  In February of 2023, Mr. Rains returned to where he started, taking an Of Counsel position with Rosenstein, Fist and Ringold.  Mr. Rains has five children and when not practicing law, enjoys golf and most thing vintage.
